This is the thread where you can talk about anything random! We had a thread like this on another site and people loved it, so please feel free to post here whenever you have something to say.
Just watched Tosh.0. Anyone watch that show? It's TV-14 and it's a clip show where Daniel Tosh finds random videos on the Internet and comments on them. Sometimes he even invites the people from the video to be on his show. |

How about putting up a link or embed for "The Making of Father Xmas" video which was recently put on YouTube. Dakota is just unbearably cute in this little interview. Seems like it ought to be in the forum somewhere but I wouldn't know where you'd want to put it. I suppose it could go in the Dakota subforum or it might go, upfront maybe, in a Father Xmas spoiler thread.
Here's the YouTube link:

Thanks for the link!
(In the future, you can post news by going here: http://fanningwor...hp?stype=n)
Edit: I changed the news post so it says you posted it, since you're the one who found the video.

The Member Cards are going to continue to be there, but I won't be doing the welcome emails anymore, so the registration process will be sped up a bit. And they will be sent to all members at the end of the year. |

I don't have a particular film rating exclusively in mind when I think of adult roles; they don't have to be PG13 or R.
Also, I don't see how an actor would be able to play a fully adult role until they know what it's like to be one. Dakota, at 16, doesn't even legally have to buy her own burgers or provide herself with a roof. Even if she makes piles, her parents have a legal obligation to care for her. She'll have plenty of personal challenges in the next 5 years, and, in the process of dealing with them, she'll grow up.
Recently, I actually rented a couple of well-acted and very adult themed films which were PG. One was the Martin Scorseese film, The Age of Innocence and the Emma Thompson & Anthony Hopkins film The Remains of the Day. As it turned out however, both films are about people who didn't fight for the love of their lives and missed out--big time. I found myself so shaken by the sight of such appalling self-destructiveness that I didn't buy the films and never want to see them again. But, they were PG nevertheless.
I also read, not long ago, about a film that was thought to have suffered because of a PG rating; the idea was that people may have skipped it because they thought is was for kids. This kind of thing would explain the films I've seen that could have easily been PG but weren't; maybe some irrelavant obscenities were sprinkled into the film to escape a PG rating. Anyway, I don't know what a "family film" is unless it's something like Dreamer which can be enjoyed, and has something to think about, by just about anyone actually old enough to follow a complex story. In any case, only people are ends-in-themselves; not families.
Anyway, if Dakota get's an interestring script, I really can't imagine her rejecting it just because its not PG13 or R. With her own life as background, she might even be interested in films that would inspire the desire for achievement in kids; and boy, don't we need that today.

Oops! It looks like my #8 is an orphan. Oh well, the thread is "just talk" so I guess it's ok.

A "family film" is a film that can be enjoyed by the whole family, something that all age groups can watch together. That way, she can bring in fans who are kids but without doing something for, for example, Disney Channel or anything like that (unless, of course, Disney Channel comes up with a really good script, which judging by the last two of "Hannah Montana," isn't going to happen anytime soon).
Edit: I moved all the Merge-related messages to the other thread, which ended up being all of them up to the one you posted. Your post showed up a minute or two after I moved the other postings.

Good start!
However, the spam goes to "What are the mid-season Oscar contenders?" at the bottom of the 2nd page.
It's quite annoying; one clicks, thinking they'll see a user comment, but gets spam instead.

Please don't report problems in this thread. Use the appropriate area of the forum (Help, Questions, Suggestions) instead. You may also report problems by sending me a Private Message (PMs are the best way to report users to be banned or comments that should be removed).
Dakota-related discussions should go in the "Everything Dakota" area.
Let's try to keep the forums organized from now on. Thanks!
FYI: I just removed the SPAM comments, so those are gone now.

Does anybody know some website where you can watch Gossip Girl for free? I really love it! It is very interesting. I watched it on a website called seriale.alese.ro and also on a website called vplay.ro. The last website was really great until you have to wait about 30 minutes to be able to see the video and then about another 20 that it takes for the video to load. The first website is OK only that the episodes don't have a great quality. So does anybody know any website, please? |

You might have to wait for the DVD for HQ or to not have to deal with time limits or download time.
Here is an online site; some episodes are free, others are paid: http://www.casttv...ossip-girl |
