Dakota's 13th Birthday Gift Thank-you Note! In late January 2007, I bought two 13th birthday bracelets from Abernook. One went to Makenzie Vega (b. Feb. 10, 1994) and the other went to Dakota Fanning (b. Feb. 23, 1994). Makenzie doesn't usually reply to her fan mail, but I did eventually learn that she received (and liked!) her bracelet. I didn't hear back from Dakota and just assumed that she got too many gifts to reply to them all.
Today I was looking for 13th birthday gift ideas for certain girls who will turn 13 next year and I came across their site again. Apparently, what happened was that since I mailed the present to Dakota directly from the site, the message I sent for her got lost so it looked like the site staff bought her the bracelet! So now on their site on the page where you order the 13th birthday bracelet is now a thank-you note from Dakota!
I honestly don't remember if I got the bracelets myself or if other people chipped in on them that year. But either way, Dakota really liked her bracelet. It's too bad it took us 3 1/2 years to find out, but better late than never, right? ;)
Breaking Dawn Update As you probably know, Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final installment of the Twilight saga, will be presented in two parts.
But what's new is that IMDb has confirmed that Dakota will reprise her role as Jane and appear in Part 2! The film will be released in 2012. Part 1 (without Dakota/Jane) will be released 18 November 2011.
Filming for both parts will likely take place in late 2010 or early 2011.

The 16-year-old Eclipse actress graces the cover of the August 2010 issue of Marie Claire, which is on newsstands TOMORROW (July 13)!
Dakota told the magazine that kissing her Runaways co-star Kristen Stewart was “no big deal.” She says “it’s out of the way, and it was with my friend and a girl - no pressure.”
FYI: Dakota is wearing a Fluxus “Funk Top” in heather grey.
Dakota Fanning Covers 'Marie Claire' August 2010 Dakota Fanning looks grown up and glamorous on the cover of Marie Claire’s August 2010 issue, on newsstands Tuesday, July 13!
Here’s what the 16-year-old actress had to share:
On kissing Kristen Stewart in The Runaways: ” It’s out of the way, and it was with my friend and a girl - no pressure. It was not something Cherie [Currie] and Joan [Jett] ever really spoke about, and that’s how it was filmed - as not that big of a deal.”
On growing up in the business: “When you start out young, people get really attached to who you are at 6 years old. I hope that The Runaways was kind of a moment to be like, ‘You know, I’m not that young little girl anymore, but I’m still not all grown up, either.”
Dakota Fanning 'Looking Forward' To New Roles Dakota Fanning doesn’t want to rush growing up but hopes people will take her more seriously as an actress.
The 16-year-old star’s first major big screen role was alongside Sean Penn in I Am Sam when she was just six. Dakota has appeared in a string of hit movies since then and is keen to continue developing her career.
The starlet recently played rocker Cherie Currie alongside Kristen Stewart in The Runaways and is confident the role proved she isn’t a child anymore.
"When you start out young, people get really attached to who you are at 6 years old," Dakota said in an interview with Marie Claire. "I hope that The Runaways was kind of a moment to be like, 'You know, I'm not that young little girl anymore, but I'm still not all grown up, either.'
“As you get older, there's so much more that you can do in films. I've never wanted to rush that; I've always wanted to do what's right for my age, but as you approach 18, a whole new world opens up to you as an actor, and I really look forward to that."
Dakota and Kristen shared a kiss in one scene of the movie and although the lip lock whipped up a media frenzy, the blonde star insists she didn’t think too much about the experience.
"It's out of the way, and it was with my friend and a girl - no pressure,” Dakota explained. “It was not something Cherie [Currie] and Joan [Jett] ever really spoke about, and that's how it was filmed - as not that big of a deal."
Dakota became good friends with Kristen on the set of The Runaways and the pair got the chance to work together again when Dakota joined the cast of Twilight.
Dakota plays a villainous vampire in the hit franchise and she loved wearing red contact lenses for the role. "It's something that's always been there for me, that I have huge blue eyes - it's been something that people have always talked about," Dakota added. "But I enjoyed the red. You're automatically transformed into a creature when you put those red eyes in."
Fanning 'worried about college admission' Dakota Fanning has admitted that she is worried she didn't perform well during a recent standardised exam.
The Twilight actress has revealed that she is nervous her scores for the ACT test aren't going to be as high as her confidence level was when she completed the exam.
According to Teen Hollywood, the 16-year-old said: "I took the ACT. I got the email saying, 'Your scores are on the way'. So now I know to watch for the envelope and hide it for a few weeks.
"I'm just afraid I didn't do well because I came out [of the exam] and I was like, 'Oh, that was easy! That was not hard'. My confidence is completely gone."
Last month, Fanning suggested that she wants to experience college after she graduates from high school.
What are the mid-season Oscar contenders? The Runaways (April): This moody, accurate exploration of 1970s angst, focusing on the rise and fall of the seminal all-girl band, could yield nominations for Kristen Stewart (Joan Jett) and Dakota Fanning (Cherie Currie).

Dakota Fanning Nervous About Driving DAKOTA Fanning says she’s “really nervous” about learning how to drive.
The actress, 16, admits she’s more frightened at getting behind the wheel of a car than she is in front of the camera.
“I have my permit to drive but I am only just starting out driving,” she said. “I’m really nervous about it.
“I can drive along the flats now but not busy roads or the freeway. I have a long way to go before I’m brave enough for that.”
Fanning recently revealed that she had her sights set on becoming a tennis player before becoming an actress.
“My mom went to college on a full scholarship for tennis, my dad played minor-league baseball and my grandfather was a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles,” she said.
“So before I started acting the plan for me was to be a tennis player – that was the plan for me and my mum had me in tennis classes.
“One day I went to her and told her I really love the outfits but it’s just too hot – it’s just too hot for me to play tennis and I didn’t want to play anymore.”
